Spanish AP/IB and Spanish 3

Spanish AP/IB

The AP Spanish Language and Culture course, which is conducted almost exclusively in Spanish, adheres to all the objectives and curricular requirements established by the College Board. Emphasis is placed on the four language skills--listening, speaking, reading and writing--along with the inclusion of other important elements of language learning. The grammatical concepts, vocabulary lists and the culture of the Spanish-speaking countries is provided. The students are exposed to a myriad of literary works--modern and classic--via the different genres. Preparation for the AP Spanish Language is essential. Authentic ancillary materials are utilized, which facilitates maintaining an authentic learning environment in the classroom.

 Spanish 3

Students continue their study of Spanish by further expanding their knowledge of key vocabulary topics and grammar concepts. Students comprehend listening and reading passages more fully, but they also start to express themselves more meaningfully in both speaking and writing. Each unit consists of a new vocabulary theme and grammar concept, reading and listening comprehension activities, speaking and writing activities, multimedia cultural presentations, and interactive activities and practices which reinforce vocabulary and grammar.
